Safer Travel App launched
In 2012, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary, and to keep up with the busy lives of travellers we decided to create a Travel Safety App for iPhone and iPad. The Safer Travel App is available free to download and was launched on the 10th October 2013.
The Safer Travel App will offer specific travel and safety information for destinations around the globe. It will provide travel safety tips, information about the country or city, highlights and attractions, and useful and emergency phone numbers.
Our aim for this project is to provide specific information for popular tourist destinations.
Safer Travel offers:
- helpful website links that travellers might need,
- local and annual events in the area,
- places to go and avoid,
- season to travel,
- interactive maps,
- current population,
- ethnic groups and
- languages spoken.
An additional live feed will provide up to date information on local news, the political situation and currency exchange rates.
Our aim for this project is to provide specific information for popular tourist destinations. Over the following year we plan to expand the Safer Travel App to cover popular destinations and favoured backpacking routes. Ultimately, we want to cover every travel destination around the world!
Most people take mobile phones with them wherever they go. Now, users will be able to access relevant travel safety information, maps and links on one app anywhere in the world. The App is released and ready for download!!
